Hi, I’m Dr Annette Childs

The M.A.P.S. program has been developed by Dr. Annette Childs, a thought leader with more than 40 years of elder care and end of life experience. The M.A.P.S. Navigation® philosophy is based on her groundbreaking approach to caregiving. This philosophy has been honed though her years of clinical practice as well as work in emergency departments, hospitals, hospice programs, home health agencies, and extended care facilities. She has seen first hand how traditional home care agencies are failing to provide the standard of care that we all deserve.

In 2010 she was named a Fellow in Thanatology, Grief and Bereavement and in 2020 she completed an Advanced Practice Certificate from California State University Shiley Institute for Palliative Care.

“Grateful Everyday for what I learned when it comes to the nature, nurture and healing of people. She brings compassion, love, caring and kindness to every life she touches. I am thankful every day for the lessons and love she has taught me about me and my journey in life.”

RENEE

The M.A.P.S. Navigation certification elevates both the caregiver and the care.

Seeing the lack of quality home care in her own community, Dr. Childs designed the M.A.P.S. Navigation® Training to meet the needs of those who wish to remain at home through the lifespan. M.A.P.S. is a complimentary training program, designed for caregivers as well as family members. By empowering students with palliative care concepts the program creates a caregiver who is uniquely trained to recognize the natural transitions that occur as we move along the arc of illness and age.
